Illustrations to foster social cohesion during Covid-19
2020
I was approached to design the visual identity for the "IN DA SA NI" and "IRMA FONDEY SAMBOU" campaign. The campaign aimed to counter misinformation about the Covid-19 pandemic, foster social cohesion, and raise awareness on its means of transmission and ways to prevent its spread.
I designed the logo, illustrations, and communication materials needed to implement the campaign: banners, roll-ups, flyers, Facebook posts, etc. During the implementation phase, the illustrations were used as references by local Niger artists for painting on the city's walls to engage the communities.
For the logo, I combined illustrations (the virus), text and dialogue graphics, typography and the question mark symbol. The use of colors was studied in depth in order to convey the message: yellow expresses friendship, social relations, and fraternity; orange is one of the colors the Niger flag; blue symbolizes truth, trust, loyalty, and security.
